about

Olivia LeClair
Calling Lonely Planet
Calling Lonely Planet is a piece composed by Olivia LeClair that is comprised of one clarinet and was recorded under a canopy of trees in the Appalachian Mountains. The track is a call to Pluto, utilizing the reverb and lone tones of the clarinet to convey the distance Pluto has from the rest of the solar system. The clarinet's voice repeatedly calls out to the planet in hopes that it will reach it.

Olivia LeClair was born in 1993 in Tampa, Florida. She creates sound works based on her classical training in clarinet and utilizes the space that the solo clarinet occupies. Olivia has her BFA in Kinetic Imaging from Virginia Commonwealth University and currently lives in Takoma Park, Maryland in a house with a cat named Bird and a dog named Haru.
